So as usual I was going to give you guys a health benefits video for this herb, but when I actually went to find the studies for this herb I only found one that resulted in bad outcomes. So cascara sagrada appears to be toxic if taken in large doses. It's most known for its ability to relieve constipation, and stimulate peristalsis which is the natural contraction of our GI tract that keeps things moving. It has been linked to liver toxicity, respiratory allergic diseases, and hepatitis and liver failure. So unless I was a seasoned herbalist with a lot of experience working with this herb, I wouldn't experiment with it myself just as a regular person who has no deep knowledge of botanicals. I just wouldn't. It's probably fine in blends, because the blend with the dosages have probably been tested as safe. I would definitely make sure that I trust the herbalist or company that is selling me this blend with this ingredient in it. Anyways I thought that I would just share this with you.
