Many years ago I was able to successfully lose some not-so-healthy extra pounds. One of the things I did at the time was to quit caffeine (for other medical reasons). That year the pounds came off quite easily. At the end of the year, two big things happened: I had a hysterectomy (I kept my ovaries), and I started drinking coffee again. At that point, the pounds have slowly, but steadily, been piling on. Since then I've tried a multitude of different things including experimenting with my diet, hiking, weight training, running, and more but the pounds don't even stabilize. Now I'm going to quit caffeine again to see if that has ANY bearing at all on my ability to lose weight. For some people, I've read, that consuming caffeine can negatively affect weight loss. Will it work for me? Have you ever quit caffeine? Join me in this experiment to see how your body and mind feel when it's not addicted to caffeine. It will take time - I estimate at least 2 months to get the effects of caffeine completely out of my system.
