You know those annoying stringy fibers in the corn? It’s called corn silk, and it’s edible! But even easier is just to steep TEA out of it, which comes with a host of health benefits: weight loss, as a mild diuretic (to help remedy UTIs), and there are studies that hint it can improve the effectiveness of angina (heart condition) medications, etc. WHY I LIKE IT: - It’s good for you: all the stuff above, plus it's zero calories: keto-friendly, low-carb! - Corn silk is included free with every ear of corn! - It's a subtle drink/beverage, a nice change from plain water - It’s so crazy easy, this video was really kind of redundant INGREDIENTS: - Corn silk, however much you can grab off your corn - Water PROCESS: 1. Get yourself some corn silk (while you’re cleaning your corn on the cob) 2. Toss it into a pot 3. Add enough water “to cover” (1½-2 cups will work) 4. Bring it all to a boil, then turn the heat down to a simmer 5. Let simmer for 10-12 minutes 6. Turn off the heat, cover, let it sit for another 20-30 minutes 7. Drink it (from a cup) NOTE: If you prefer a stronger taste, toss the actual corn cobs in the pot too, and boil for 20 minutes instead. Corn cob will bring subtle but undeniable “sweet corn” flavour, a very nice addition. (That said, I use my cobs straight into corn soup. More on that later.)
