Menopause And Its Effects on Black Women Are you black and wondering how to deal with new changes to your body from menopause? Just as you become an adult after your teen years, you will naturally reach menopause, the time when you stop having menstrual periods. In this video, some symptoms of this medical condition are explained, and how they happen differently in black women. Some of these differences include bowel problems like indigestion, weight gain and other stomach diseases. Others relate to the age a woman enters menopause or perimenopause and some types of complications that are more common. This can cause so much distress, confusion and further ill health to many women as it can affect work, business and relationships. Many black women also face the challenge that they may not be listened to by their health provider or find their symptoms ignored. The fact that our symptoms may present differently can account for some of this treatment. This is something that many clinicians are beginning to understand and so review their treatment. Hopefully, this video empowers black women with the confidence to speak with their doctors and seek better care around their symptoms and live better lives. 🌿 Video Chapters 00:00 – Introduction 02:12 – Age at final menstrual period 03:34 – Stomach and Bowel Functions 05:27 – Earlier Menopause Complications 🌿 TARGETED PLAYLIST LINK: Women’s Health Issues - https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLZk0wepb4GWPV0wDPEUfLXng938CkPqG 🌿 SUBSCRIBE & CLICK 🔔 - https://bit.ly/youtubeaskawayhealth 🌿 Join the Community Room and start chatting - https://bit.ly/thecommunityroom 🌿 Videos: Painful Vaginal Sex – https://youtu.be/o4e0Z30HYQM Vaginal Bleeding After Sex - https://youtu.be/DArSTXILEZY 🌿 Book a Consultation with Dr Sylvia - https://bit.ly/AskawayhealthAppointments Email Answer Service - https://askawayhealth.org/askawayhealth-email-advice-service/ 🌿 YouTube Video URL: https://youtu.be/mmrOsWRDZ4Y 🌿 Askawayhealth Channel Disclaimer - This video is meant for educational purposes and is not meant to replace advice from your health practitioner.
