Is rebounding helpful with arthritis? 🤔 This is a topic I do get quite a few questions about… Rebounding includes using a mini trampoline to do various exercises for strength, balance and/or cardio. Research is limited and almost non-existent for people with arthritis. Looking at the studies that do exist- rebounding is typically used against a control group that doesn’t involve exercise at all 🧐 Now this doesn’t mean it’s “bad”, it’s just not a well-researched intervention from what I was able to come across ☝🏽 There is some qualitative data showing because of the enjoyment of using it, it can help to aid in consistency and adherence to exercise which I’m all for ✅ The best thing to do would be to test to see how it feels on your joints. Some people may really like it, others may have pain or difficulty using it ☝🏽 If you’re having difficulty standing or balancing for longer than 5 minutes- this likely is not a viable option ⚠️ please use support and judgement based on your current level of function ☝🏽 Exercises on these mini trampolines will vary as there are many different options. Basically, if it feels good and you’re consistent with it- it could be beneficial. There are many other exercise options that may be more accessible but if it’s something you enjoy- it could be an option 👀 #rebounding #minitrampoline #reboundingfitness #trampoline #osteoarthritis #arthritis #arthritispain #arthritisexercise #physicaltherapist #physicaltherapy Not medical advice.
