We all heard it before. Drinking a few glasses of red wine each week is healthy, but is it true? This is a classic medical myth, which stems from an American television show from the 90s. In this show was found that the French eat unhealthy, but live longer. They concluded that this therefore must be explained by their red wine usage… Not a very scientific approach. Recent research by a danish professor provides a clearer insight in this matter. He found that people which buy red wine, also buy other, more healthy products. As an example, instead of chips they buy olives. Furthermore wine-drinkers are averagely higher educated and live in better neighborhoods. Al these factors are proven to contribute to longevity. Which probably explains why wine-drinkers live longer. And therefore the only good reason to drink red wine, is because you like to drink it.
