In general, protein should make up 30% of the average woman’s diet. And women who are exercising, and strength training should be consuming somewhere between 1.2-1.7 grams of protein per kilogram (or 0.5 to 0.8 grams per pound) of body weight every day. For me, that means at least ~ 113 grams protein each day (I currently target 150 g). While it is totally possible to it this number with whole foods (non supplements), it can be tricky to get enough lean protein without overdoing fats and/or carbs. Using protein powders can be a great way to add in supplemental protein if you need some help. Unfortunately, many protein powders out there are full of highly processed ingredients and so many ingredients, it’s insane. In fact, the lack of easy-to-digest and clean proteins is why I launched my own Cleanish Protein Powder (@cleanishsupps). Not only do I love how simple the ingredients are, I find it so easy to add in supplemental protein each day with an easy shake that I just mix with water. I do this 2x most days, which accounts for an easy (and delicious!) 40 g protein. #betterthanyesterday #cleanish #protein #plantbasedprotein #proteinpowder #proteinsupplement #cleanishsupps
