Hims & Hers soars on cheaper compounded versions of Novo Nordisk's semaglutide #HIMS #NVO #LLY [lixWPNUey]

Hims & Hers Health (HIMS) surged over 27% on Monday after announcing it would offer customers access to compounded versions of Novo Nordisk's (NVO) semaglutide, the active ingredient in its weight loss drug Wegovy, at a fraction of the brand-name cost. The company announced that plans for injections of its compounded semaglutide, also sold as the type 2 diabetes medication Ozempic, start at $199 per month. Hims & Hers is also offering a $79 per month plan for an oral version of semaglutide, also sold as Novo's diabetes pill Rybelsus. The list price of Wegovy is ~$1349 per month. Ozempic is ~$936 per month.
