Gall stones are usually hardened by cholesterol which usually block the exit resulting in severe abdominal pain or vomiting or inflammation or even jaundice. Hence it is very important to eat foods and not aggravate the situation further. The first dietary strategy for someone who is been diagnosed with gallstones is to limit the intake of cholesterol rich foods such as eggs, meat or milk and milk products. Secondly, one must avoid all fried foods, food that is loaded with animal fats as this can aggravate the situation. Finally it is important to avoid to avoid foods that is loaded with trans fats or hydrogenated fats such as chips, biscuits, namkeens, ice-creams or any other refined foods. Instead we should try to keep our gall bladder healthy by including nutrient dense foods such as fruits and vegetables, especially Vitamin C rich foods and a lot of green leafy vegetables you can also include a lot of nuts, seeds or good sources of vegetable proteins such as sprouts, boiled pulses, lentils etc. Beyond all this let us not forget to include a lot of water to flush out all the toxins.
