Do you want to increase your fiber intake for health reasons? Has a doctor told you increasing fiber will help you poop? Do you want to consume more fiber but have no idea how to do it? In this video, I discuss my best tips to increase your fiber intake! The first thing you have to do is set a fiber goal. This is so important because fiber has been shown to help cancer and heart disease. Most people do not consume enough fiber, so know how much fiber is in the foods you consume and try to reach a goal of eating 25-30+ grams of fiber. However, don't try to increase your fiber to this amount right away because that can cause bloating and gas. So slowly and increase fiber incrementally. Also, spread out the fiber between all your meals. Make sure you are drinking enough water. Additionally, you need to balance soluble and insoluble fiber. These fibers are processed and help your body in different ways. Fiber supplements are a great way to start increase your fiber intake. Psyllium is a good one to start with. However, try to get the majority of your fiber from whole food sources. Once you are having a lot of whole food fiber, decrease your supplement, otherwise you will be having too much fiber! In a future video, I will discuss the best whole food sources of fiber. So subscribe to the channel and visit the video below for more information!
